Things are getting more and more complicated at the Australian Open. Players and teams that boarded on 3 flights had to observe a strict quarantine protocol after fellow passengers tested positive for Coronavirus. That means that they are not allowed to leave their room for 14 days.
Therefore, frustration is boiling and local people are not impressed by some tennis players complaining about the quarantine and how they are treated. The result is that some politicians are trying to take advantage of the situation to create some consensus.
Stan Wawrinka
Stan Wawrinka didn’t complain at all about the overall situation, but he was attacked by a local MP (Tim Smith) that called Stan “a flog” for posting a rather nice and grateful message on social media. The politician was heavily criticized on social media for his comment.
For every Victorian currently in Sydney that is banned from returning home by Daniel Andrews, this obscene double standard, where this flog of a tennis player is allowed in, and our own people aren’t, must make so many Victorian families incandescent… https://t.co/rNdGhi3mVb
