Veronika Kudermetova and Aryna Sabalenka are about to play in the Abu Dhabi final after a fantastic week for both of them. While Sabalenka has already won 8 titles in her great career. This will be the first WTA final for Kudermetova.
However, the Russian is well aware that she has been playing extremely well and she believes that the pressure will be on her opponent.
“From my side, I don’t have expectations for tomorrow, because Aryna, she is a Top 10 player, she plays unbelievable, she’s played really good here,” Kudermetova commented.
“I think she’ll have a little bit more pressure than me because she’s supposed to win tomorrow. She’s stayed Top 10, she’s already won two tournaments in a row. Tomorrow, I’ll play free, I’ll try to play relaxed and try to enjoy my final.”
About their friendship
Veronika and Aryna are good friends as they like spending time together on the tour. The Russian said:
“We’re friends and I think it’s a really interesting and fun match tomorrow.”
