Ljubicic reveals Federer's intention about playing the Australian Open

Roger Federer And His Coach

Roger Federer is trying to get in the best possible shape in preparation for 2021. The Swiss sensation had to undergo 2 operations to his knee this year. The second procedure had to be carried as there was a setback after the first operation. However, Roger confirmed that he doesn’t need any other procedure anymore. He is currently in Dubai as usual.

Federer’s coach Ivan Ljubicic gave an update about Roger’s recovery and plan to comment:

“Roger has been preparing for a regular season. Our goal is to get ready for the Australian Open, but we will see how things will work. We will train in Dubai and hope for the best.”

Recently, the former world no.1 admitted that even if he is very much committed to playing the first slam of the year, he is racing against time.

Tennis Australia CEO Craig Tiley also confirmed Federer’s commitment to playing in Melbourne. However, he also conceded that he still needs confirmation from the 20-time slam champion as he needs to understand how his body will react to the training blocks in Dubai.
