What a terrible news.

Brad Drewett, the ATP Executive Chairman and President since 2012, passed away in his home in Sydney.

Brad was a charismatic figure that was giving a tremendous support to tennis. Few months ago he announced he would have stepped down as he had to battle against the Motor Neurone Disease.

Unfortunately yesterday we had the terrible news that Brad passed away.

The tennis community is in deep shock.

From Federer

Roger commented: “We are deeply saddened to hear the news of the passing of our dear friend and leader, Brad Drewett. He was a great player, a tremendous ATP CEO and most importantly and amazing friend to all of us.

In his short time running the ATP, he achieved a lot and his dynamic personality and steadfast loyalty to the entire global tennis family was so evident. We loved this man and send our condolences to his wife, Jo and their 4 children. The sport of tennis has lost a great figure today, but we will ensure his legacy and contributions to our sport remain part of the ATP’s fabric for years to come.”

“Rafa tweeted “Today is a very sad day for sport and tennis in particular. Our president Brad has passed away.”

These are just a couple of comments as tweeter hsa been literlly flooded with messages.

Best ATP president

All our condolences to his family…
