EXPLAINED. Tsitsipas reveals why he lost to Sinner and Coric recently

Stefanos Tsitsipas explains the reason of his losses at the hands of Borna Coric and Jannik Sinner at the US Open and in Rome

Stefanos Tsitsipas

Stefanos Tsitsipas keeps on trying to do new things to improve his tennis and the chances to win more and more big titles. However, experimenting can also go wrong. This is what has happened to the Greek sensation recently in a couple of tournaments. Stefanos had 2 shocking loss at the US Open (to Borna Coric) and in Rome at the hands of rising star Jannik Sinner. In New York, Stefanos lost an impossible match against Borna after he was leading 5-1 in the fourth set strong of a 2-1 sets lead. Tsitsipas wasn’t able to convert 6 match points. Soon after, the Greek sensation looked to be completely out of sorts against Sinner in Rome to lose in 3 sets.

TSitsipas not worried

The good news is that the world no.5 doesn’t seem worried about these losses as he admitted that he was out of his comfort zone as he was trying new things.

Stefanos revealed:

“It was a period where I was trying and testing new things. I just happened to try these new things during the US Open swing and Rome. Then I went back to my old ways and I started feeling more comfortable and confident on the court after that.”

Stefanos is about to kick start his campaign in the ATP500 in Vienna. He will face Jan-Lennard Struff in a tricky first round. The head to head is 3-2 for Stefanos and the Greek is expected to win in straight sets.
