Ferrer defeats Haas to play the final in Miami

That was the end of a magnificent tournament from Tommy Haas. The 34 years-old reached the semifinal by defeating even the world no.1, Novak Djokovic, in straight sets. Today Ferrer was too much.

Tommy started the 1st set in style to win the opener with his trade mark tennis full of variety. In the second set David was coming back to take advantage of some holes in Tommy’s service (the German committed 4 double faults on 4 service games to be broken twice).

Showing once again his never-die attitude, David Ferrer recovered twice from a break down in the decider to win the third set set 6-3.

From David

“I tried to fight every point,”  Ferrer said. “I knew Tommy, in the third set, he was a little bit more tired than me. I knew that. But when I started the third set, I served very badly. But anyway, I tried to forget and to play, focus every point.”

Next vs Murray

David will play his 5th 100 ATP Final and he will try to win his scecond master after triumphing in Bercy last year.

Head to head is 6-5 for Murray, 4-0 on hard courts.
