Game On!
Roger Federer reached the eight straight Australian Open semi final in style.
The Swiss Maestro had a tricky task with his fellow countryman Stanislas Wawrinka.
The two players know each other very well. They practice a lot together and they won together the gold medal in the Beijing Olympic games (doubles).
This is a potential dangerous situation for the ‘would-be-better-player’
So, ‘no secrets’ as Federer said. Just play!
But life was surprisingly easy for the World Nr.2. He won in straight sets leaving only 7 games (6-1 6-3 6-3).
There is not much to comment. Wawrinka was not even close to the tennis level that allowed him to beat top players such as Monfils and Roddick in the previous rounds. His frustration got him in beginning of the third set when he was broken (again) by Federer and he smashed his racket on the court breaking it in 2 pieces (this triggered an obvious ‘code violation’).
Federer will play the semi final against the winner of the match between Djokovic and Berdych
