SERIOUS INJURY. Tsitsipas to probably skip Vienna and Paris after St Petersburg because of an edema

Stefanos Tsitsipas's injury seems to be more serious than previously thought

Tsitsipas Injured

Bad news from Stefanos Tsitsipas’ camp as the Greek sensation will probably skip all the tournaments until the ATP Finals. The world no.6 had a fantastic performance against Novak Djokovic in the semifinal of the French Open. Tsitsipas saved a match point in the 3rd set before starting an inspiring comeback. Unfortunately, the Greek ace couldn’t do much in the 5th set after he got injured.

INJURY: An edema

After losing to Djokovic, Tsitsipas admitted:

“Unfortunately towards the end of the match an injury that I had during my match in Rome came back. It was difficult to close the match in a fighting way, in a fighting spirit.”

Unfortunately, Tsitsipas had an MRI that confirmed that he has an edema to his psoas muscle. This means that after withdrawing from the event in St Petersburg, Stefanos is expected to retire from Vienna and the ATP1000 in Paris. If confirmed and if fit, the last tournament of the season for Stefanos would be the ATP Finals, where he will try to defend his title.
