Medvedev will not challenge Nadal, Djokovic and Tsitsipas in Rome

This is why Daniil Medvedev has decided not to play in Rome. Dominic Thiem and Sascha Zverev may just do the same.

Daniil Medvedev Not To Play In Rome

Daniil Medvedev makes it official that he will not compete in the Internazionali d’Italia that will be played in Rome next week. The ATP and WTA schedules have been radically changed after the Coronavirus pandemic and some important events had to be scheduled back to back. This is what has happened for the Internazionali d’Italia that is going to take place soon after the US Open.

Daniil Medvedev is about to play the semifinal in New York and he decided not to compete in  Italy so as not to be rushed to prepare the Roland Garros.

Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Stefanos Tsitsipas

Nadal, Djokovic and Tsitsipas are set to be the top3 seeds in Rome. In fact, it is widely expected that also the other US Open semifinalists are not going to take part in the prestigious ATP1000. Therefore, Dominic Thiem, Sascha Zverev and Pablo Carreno Busta may head straight to Paris. The Spaniard is still scheduled to play in Hamburg the week before the Roland Garros.
