The ATP250 secured a stellar entry list with the likes of Dominic Thiem, Matteo Berrettini and Alexander Zverev, just to name a few. However, it is expected that the tournament will face many illustrious defections since many top players that were meant to play the event are enjoying a deep run at the US Open.
Unfortunately, Jannik Sinner lost in the first round in New York at the hands of Karen Khachanov after a huge battle and therefore he had the luxury to have time to play in Austria. Therefore, the upcoming Italian accepted a wildcard to play the event.
During a recent interview, Jannik commented:
“I have not played on clay for over a year since Umag. I want to play tournaments. I will go to Kitzbuhel. Then in Rome and I would like to play the week before Paris. I have trained enough, now I want to compete.”

Now the world no.74, Jannik played his last match on the 1st of September when he surrendered to Karen Khachanov 3-6 6-77 6-2 6-0 7-64 in the 1st round of the U.S. Open.

Currently the world no.3 (career-high), the Austrian has a 12-5 win-loss record in 2020. The Austrian is currently playing at the U.S. Open where he defeated Jaume Antoni Munar Clar 7-66 6-3 ret., Sumit Nagal 6-3 6-3 6-2 and Marin Cilic 6-2 6-2 3-6 6-3.
Dominic Thiem will take on Auger-Aliassime in the 4th round. They have never fight against each other so far on the main tour.

Matteo Berrettini will compete against Rublev in the 4th round. The head to head is 3-1 for Berrettini.

Currently the world no.7, Alexander has a 9-6 win-loss record in 2020. The German is currently competing at the U.S. Open where he bested Kevin Anderson 7-62 5-7 6-3 7-5, Brandon Nakashima 7-5 6-78 6-3 6-1 and Adrian Mannarino 6-74 6-4 6-2 6-2.
Alexander Zverev will face Davidovich Fokina in the 4th round. In the past, they have never face off till now in top events.
