Top Indian players willing to take part to the Davis Cup tie against Indonesia

And here we are, the top indian players now agree to take part to the tie against Indonesia… if… well if their requests are accepted (this is difficult is going to happen).

Everything came with a clear communicate that also states that the players do not want to meet with the “indipendent” committee that should resolve the issue as it is considerered as biased.

The stpry of this controversy is quite long and you can understand all the saga by clicking here.

The Communicate

“Dear Sir,

Based on your letter dated February 8, 2013 and received by us by e-mail, we would like to confirm our availability for the Indonesia tie subject to all of the conditions in the letter being unconditionally complied with by the AITA. Given that a number of the issues that we as players have still raised remain unresolved, our confirmation of availability is limited to the said Indonesia tie.

We would also like to mention that we are not available to talk with the new committee the AITA has formed as we feel like they comprise of people who are biased towards the AITA. However we encourage the AITA to constantly communicate directly with the players before and during the tie to sort out issues both parties have.

As you have mentioned that the last tie against Korea was the farewell tie for Captain SP Misra, we would like to be kept informed about who the next candidate for the job is. We do not expect to have final say on the matter but hope to have our inputs seriously taken as it is the players ultimately who end up sitting next to the captain in the high pressure match situations.

Thank you for consulting with us about the venue of the next tie. We think that Bangalore is a good venue for the tie. However we have heard that the speed of the courts is extremely fast and that is not suited to our games. We would like the courts to be resurfaced and made medium paced as we feel this along with the altitude in Bangalore plays to our advantage and to Indonesia’s top players weakness.

For the future, we look forward to a far, reasonable and comprehensive long term understanding being formally documented after a consultative and collaborative process involving us as players.

Sincerely,

The Players”

It is not going to finish here…
