LEXINGTON. Serena Williams admits that she had to be extremely careful about being in isolation because of her limited lung capacity

Serena Williams In Lexington

Serena Williams is currently in Lexington, where she is going to play her first tournament in 6 months. The American legend decided to compete in Kentucky to get some matches under her belt before playing the US Open.

The American champion was asked about what she has done during the pandemic and she revealed something shocking about her lung capacity. Serena admitted that she had to live like a recluse since she was aware that following her complicated pregnancy, she has limited lung capacity.

“I don’t have full lung capacity so I’m not sure what would happen to me. I’m sure I would be OK but I don’t want to find out. I have like 50 masks that I travel with… I’m super, super careful with what I’ve been doing, and everyone in the Serena bubble is really protected.

And everyone in the Serena bubble is really protective because at the end of the day, yeah, it’s cool to play tennis, but this is my life and this is my health,” Williams added. “I’ve been a little neurotic to an extent, but that’s just what I have to be right now.”

The competition in Lexington

Serena will face fierce competition in Lexington that has secured a glorious line-up for a WTA International event. Williams will have the company of her sister Venus, Sloane Stephens and 2 exciting and upcoming players such as Coco Gauff and Amanda Anisimova.

This event is going to be a very interesting tournament to watch.
