2011 looks a good year for Roger Federer.
He looks at the top of his form and his tennis is as good as ever.
The world Nr.2 had another good win in Doha, this time against Tsonga 6-3 7-6 (3).
The Swiss had an impressive start and managed to reach a 3-0 lead in no time. Then Tsonga tried to fight back, but he never manage to get close to Federer in the first set.
In the second set the Frenchman tried all his best, but it was clear that Federer had the upper hand in almost every rally. Tsonga had to work hard to hold his serve while he Swiss conceded only seven points on his serve in the second set. The last three Federer’s serve games lasted about 1 minute each… something very unusual.
Therefore it was clear that the Swiss was poised to win the tie break. He got immediately the lead and in no time he went to a comfortable 6-2 lead. After losing the first match point, he converted the second and got he tie break at 3.
Federer is in the final.
