Alexander Zverev (now) not sure if he wants to play the US Open.

Sascha Zverev About Playing The Us Open

Alexander Zverev is just back to competitions after playing and winning the Ultimate Tennis Showdown. The German sensation went through a rough period in the last few months. He was badly criticized for playing the Adria Tour and being caught on camera extremely active in the after parties in the Balkans. Later Zverev was slammed for breaking the promise to self-isolate as he was filmed having fun at a club in the south of France.

However, Sascha is eager to get back on his feet and he had the fantastic idea of hiring David Ferrer as his new coach. Zverev has been planning the schedules for the next few months trying to make sense of the current situation.

Zverev and the US Open

In the last few days, Sascha said that he was fine about playing the US Open even if the situation is not the best. However, during his last interview, Zverev said that he is still not sure about what he is going to do.

During a recent interview with Tennis Majors, Sascha talked about his future plans as follows.

“Going home. To Monaco, I’m going to rest tomorrow and I’m going to start practicing and preparing for what’s ahead.”

Talking about the US Open, he added:: “I will see because the situation right now in the U.S. is not that great, so I don’t know what we will decide with my team. I want to play tournaments but I think that the US right now is a little bit of a funny place. I think just see how it develops over the next few weeks. If the cases go up. How the travelling will be, and if it will be safe.

I might not go there if I don’t feel safe, if my team doesn’t feel safe. I’m still quite young but everybody that is involved with me, maybe is a little bit older and they’re in more danger than I am.”
