Donna Vekic and Dayana Yastremska are among the most interesting players that will compete in the upcoming tournament in Palermo. This WTA competition will be the first official event to start after the tour has been halted by the Coronavirus pandemic. Even if the Organisation has lost at the last moment 2 top players such as Simona Halep and Jo Konta, they still feature a rather interesting line-up.

Ranked world no.24, Vekic played her last match on the 24th of February when she was overcome by Iga Swiatek 6-4 7-5 in the 1st round in Doha.

Donna is currently training on clay in Monte Carlo and she is aiming at getting back in the top20 (she managed to reach a world no.19 high rank).

Currently ranked no.25, Yastremska played her last match on the 26th of February when she was defeated by Garbine Muguruza 6-2 6-4 in the 3rd round in Doha.

Dayana Yastremska’s best achievement of the current season was reaching the final in Adelaide.

Dayana has been training hard at home in Kiev. At 20 years of age, Yastremska is widely considered one of the hottest prospects in women tennis. Dayana is also quite active off court. She has recently”launched” a song and she has publicly defended the rights of black people after the horrible killing of George Floyd (unfortunately that was not very appreciated by some people).
