Bryans make history by winning their 13th slam – 2013 Australian Open

Great stuff in Melbourne as the Americans win their 13th Slam to overtake John Newcombe and Tony Roche (12 majors). The title came after a relatively easy final against Robin Haase and Igor Sijsling where the Bryans won 6-3 6-4 to get their 6th title at the Australian Open.

From Mike

“It feels real good to have that record,” said Mike .

“To be a part of history is pretty special. We weren’t thinking about it much out there, but now that we have it, it’s going to be fun to look back on our career and say we have the most Grand Slams. It’s a big record, so we’re pretty excited about it.”

Going for 100 titles.

The twins have already achieved a golden slam winning the Olympics in London, they have just broke the record for most Slams, they have already broken the record for most career titles (84) and they are aiming at finishing their career at 100 titles (16 to go).

“That would be cool to end on a round number.” commented Bob.

Couldn’t get any better than that. Well done!
