All top seeds made it to the final and we have a nice Federer – Murray on the lower part of the draw.
Federer’s path
Roger had a horrible draw, but he came out from there with brilliance. He defeated in straight sets Paire, Davydenko, Tomic and Raonic displaying a flawless tennis. The quarter final with Tsonga wasn’t as easy. Roger wasn’t as brilliant as the first 4 rounds, but he kept his cool to win a highly entertaining 5 setter.
Murray’s path
Usually Andy is the unlucky one when you talk about draws, but this time he had it really easy. The Scott didn’t lose a set during the tournament to beat Haas, Sousa, Berankis, (dead tired) Simon, Chardy. Andy wasn’t even tested and it’s really difficult to assess if he is in top form.
“I feel probably a little bit calmer maybe than usual,” said Murray. “But I still have an understanding of how difficult it is to win these events. With the players that are still left in the tournament, it’s going to be a very tough, tough few days if I want to do that. So I’ll just stay focused, work hard in my next couple of practice sessions, and hope I can finish the tournament well.”
Head to head
Murray leads 10-9, but Federer leads 3-0 in Slams. Last time they played in the World Tour semifinals where Roger won 7-6 (5) 6-2.

Our Pick
It couldn’t be more difficult. Andy is really fresh, but he didn’t have the “luxury” to be tested in a “real” match. It feels like he played 5 first rounds. It seems that Roger has been playing a quarter final since the 2nd round, he knows exactly where he stands and he knows he is playing well. Unfortunatly for the Swiss the last match with Tsonga could have been tough on his body, but it wasn’t a marathon (3 and half hours) and the average rally was about 4 shots… so the Maestro is expected to recuperate after on day off.
Our pick is Murray in 5 if they play outdoor and Federer in 5 if they play indoor… it can always rain…
