‘We must first love each other’ – Coco Gauff impresses when addressing the Black Lives Matter movement

Cori Gauff is one of the most promising upcoming players in the tennis. With the tours halted, the young American is still very active on social media and beyond speaking up in favor of the so-called “Black Lives Matter” movement.

Coco was shocked by the horrible murder of George Floyd. On Wednesday, she took the stage in Delray Beach, talking about the current situation, the unrest that followed the killing of Floyd, and what people should do to embrace the movement.

“I think it’s sad that I’m here protesting the same thing that she [her grandmother] did 50-plus years ago.”

So I’m here to tell you guys this: that we must first love each other, no matter what. We must have the tough conversations with my friends. I’ve been spending all week having tough conversations trying to educate my non-black friends on how they can help the movement. Second, we need to take action.

Yes, we’re all here protesting, and I’m not of age to vote, but it’s in your hands to vote for my future for my brothers’ future and your future. Third, you need to use your voice no matter how big your platform is,” she said.

As per Chris Evert, Coco seems to be destined to become a leader and an icon for the black community. It is great to see that a teenager is so passionate about these important topics!
