Mixed news for Serena as the American no.1 just underwent a foot operation to fix some problems to her big toe.
Serena won’t definitely play the exo in Thailand scheduled by the 29th of December, but she is still expected to play in Brisbane (29th Dec – > 5th Jan).
Apparently the Brisbane tournament director Cameron Pearson received the comforting news from Serena’s agent that she will be up and running for that date.
The American considers Brisbane as an important build up tournament for the Australian Open (where she won 5 times). Last year Serena played in Brisbane, but she had to pull out in the quarters because of an ankle injury.
If that is true we shouldn’t have problems at seeing Serena at the Australian Open.. that is good news!
