Alison won the set after she broke the Chinese in the 5th (3-2) and in the 11th (6-5) game. The Chinese tried to stage a comeback breaking in the 10th (5-5) and in the 12th (6-6) game. Notwithstanding, the American maintained the focus before winning the set at the following tiebreak at 5.

Wang didn’t want to give any chance to the opposition at the beginning of the set after breaking Riske in the 1st game (1-0). 3rd set.
Riske had a racing start in this set after breaking Wang in the 2nd game (2-0). However, that wasn’t sufficient for Alison to win the set because the Chinese managed to break back in the 3rd (1-2) and in the 7th (3-4) game. Alison kept her focus to break Wang in the 6th (4-2) and in the 8th (5-3) game before winning the set (6-3).
