Auger Aliassime to join Shapovalov at the Davis Cup after Raonic withdrew with injury

Good news for the Canadian tennis fans as finally Felix Auger Aliassime agreed to join his Davis Cup team after recovering from his ankle injury.

Unfortunately, Team Canada had the bad news that Milos Raonic was not fit to play because of a back injury. Raonic released the following statement:

“It is very hard and disappointing for me that I will not be able to represent my country at Davis Cup. My health has continued to let me down through this entire year and now once again. I will take the appropriate time to get healthy and I look forward to being back on court next season.”

Milos will be replaced by the world no.94 Brayden Schnur that commented: “I’m very happy to be able to play in the Davis Cup Finals but, of course, I first want to wish Milos a speedy recovery. It’s an honour for me to represent Canada in this team competition.”

Auger Aliassime recovered from his ankle injury

As anticipated, the good news was that Felix Auger Aliassime recovered from the ankle injury that sidelined him since Vienna. The Canadian is already training, and he looks in great form.
