Matteo Berrettini is having an outstanding season. The Italian started 2019 just outside the top50 to end the season in the top8 and qualify for the ATP Finals. Matteo proved to be great on all surfaces after he won 3 titles in Gstaad and Budapest on clay, in Stuttgart on grass, and he reached the semifinals at the US Open on hard court.

To add the icing to the cake, the Italian is also involved in a healthy relationship with Ajla Tomljanovic that used to date Nick Kyrgios. Matteo is elated with having Ajla with him when her schedules allow that since she is also playing on the WTA tour.
Talking about how difficult it is dating a fellow tennis player, Matteo commented: “The problem is that she has her career. I cannot bring her with me throughout the season.”
The Matteo made fun of his coach to jokingly say:
“I like training with her, and she definitely plays better than my coach. We played for the first time together in Wimbledon, and I was impressed even if I do not often play with women.”
Ajla was seen with Matteo during his recent run in Vienna. She is expected to give her full support also at the ATP Finals in London.

Ranked no.8 (career-high), the Italian played his last match on the 30th of October when he was defeated by Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-4 6-3 in the 2nd round in Paris.
This year Matteo has a 46-21 win-loss record. Berrettini has won 3 titles in 2019 in the Phoenix Challenger, in Budapest and in Stuttgart. The Italian was the finalist in Munich.

Ranked no.51, Tomljanovic played her last match on the 15th of October when she had to surrender to Varvara Gracheva 6-3 6-2 in the 1st round in Moscow.
Ajla Tomljanovic’s best performance of the present year was reaching the final in Hua Hin.
