What a match from Agnieszka that managed to destroy Angelique Kerber in less that 1 hour!
Radwanska – Kerber 6-1 6-1
Not much to do for the German that was completely outplayed by the world no.3. “We’ve played a couple of times before and it has always been tough, and even though today was 61 61 it was tough as well, and I had to run a lot,” Radwanska said. “She’s a very smart player and mixes up a lot of shots, so I had to stay focused from beginning to end. I’m very happy I could play my best today.”
Talking about the final. “Nadia has been playing great tennis the whole week,” the Pole said. “First of all I’m very, very happy I could reach the final and fight for the title again. I’ll try my best – it’s the final, the most important match of the week.”
Petrova – Stosur 6-4 6-2
Another fine performance by the Russian. After rallying back the day before from a 1 set and 1-4 games down with Sara Errani (not the easiest play on the circuit), today Nadia managed to defeat Sam Stosur in straight sets A remarkable thing giving the fact that the Australian was in fine form and full of confidence after defeating Sharapova in 2 sets in the quarters. Nadia had a very solid performance to blast 9 aces in 9 service games. This allowed Petrova not to concede any break
“Sam is a tough opponent,” said Petrova. “She has a huge serve, a huge forehand. You have to be alert, you have to play your best tennis and I was able to accomplish that.”
The final
Radwanska leads 3-1. Interesting enough they played all matches in 2008 and the only match won by Nadia was … in Tokyo 6-3 6-0!
Besides that, the Pole is still the hot favorite, but the Russian is a huge question mark!
