Nadal may not play the 2013 Australian Open

Another horrible news for Nadal’s fans. Rafa says he is not sure about his participation to the Australian Open.

To be frank this sounds as a clear declaration after the King of Clay had similar statements before skipping the Olympic Games and … all the rest. It was always an “I am not sure statement”.

Talking about the Australian Open, the Spanish legend said “All that is in my mind is to keep working hard to come back, I cannot think about the future because it’s not like if you break your arm and you know you will have a few weeks like this, then a few weeks like that and then you are back.”

“This is a day-by-day thing,” Nadal added . “I have checks every day to see how I’m improving. I can’t predict what will happen.”

“The situation is very clear in my mind. I first need to look after myself completely and be back to full fitness before deciding when and where to play again. I’ll only come back when I’m 100 per cent. I don’t want to go back on court again with permanent doubts on my fitness.”

Can we completely write off Rafa playing the World Tour Finals because of this? It seems so.
