Stefanos Tsitsipas is getting better and better.

The Greek no.1 reaches the semifinal in Washington after dismissing David Goffin in straight sets. Stefanos took full advantage of the fact that he got an early lead in both sets (4-1 and 3-1) to win 6-3 6-4.

After the match, Stefanos commented

“I played very well from the beginning to the end. I managed to break him early, stayed concentrated on my serve, which was very important that I didn’t get broken today. In general, it was a very good match and I really enjoyed myself out there.

I was practicing at the Mouratoglou Academy in Nice and the conditions there felt pretty much the same as here. I got used to that a week before and when I came here I felt pretty comfortable from the beginning of the tournament.”

Next vs. Zverev

Stefanos will face Sascha Zverev in an intriguing semifinal. They have never played each other so far.
