Sascha wins the battle of the Zverevs

As per Sascha’s words, the youngster has lost a lot of matches against his older brother in the backyard of their house. However, that was some time ago, and things are rather different right now.

Sascha and Mischa were opposed in the 3rd round in Washington. The 21-year-old won the opening set 6-3 with relative ease, but he had to battle a lot in the 2nd set. In fact, after exchanging breaks in the 5th and 6th game, Sascha had to perform 2 gigantic holds in the 8th (4-4) and 10th (5-5) game before conquering the decisive break in the 11th game (6-5). That proved to be critical for the world no.3 that eventually won the match 6-3 7-5. The nicest part was a huge hug with his brother after the contest.

Zverev will face either Denis Shapovalov or Kei Nishikori in the quarters.
