Djokovic in the Queen’s final

Novak Djokovic is not yet at his very best, but he is managing to find the solution to go deep in tournaments.

After reaching the semifinals in Rome and the quarters at the French Open, the Serbian sensation is now in the final of the ATP500 at the Queen’s Club, and he achieved that without dropping a single set in the entire tournament.

The semis vs. Chardy

To get to the final act of the tournament, Nole had to defeat the world no. 61 Jeremy Chardy. In the first set, there was no much difference between the former world no.1 and the Frenchman. Nole was a bit displeased for not being able to convert 3 set points on Chardy’s serve while he was leading 6-5, but eventually, the 12-times slam champion won the set at the breaker.

In the second set, Djokovic dropped only 4 points on his serve while Chardy struggle in 4 service games to finally capitulate in the 9th game and lose the match 7-6 (5) 6-4.

“It was very pleasing to go through to the final. It’s been a while since I’ve played for a title, so it’s a special moment considering what I have been through. It’s a great occasion. I would lie if I say I wasn’t ambitious coming into the tournament, so I am hoping I can go all the way.”
