Federer explains why Halle is better than Stuttgart for his tennis

Roger Federer is a happy man right now.

The Swiss sensation has just won for the 1st time the ATP250 in Stuttgart playing fantastic tennis on a court that in theory is not the best for him and he is now the obvious favorite to win his 10th title in Halle.

Roger defeated the world no.72 Ajlaz Bedene in the opener in Halle after being always in control of the match. The Swiss didn’t display monstrous tennis also because he didn’t have time to practice on that court. However, Roger was pretty happy with his performance.

Why Halle is easier for Federer

“I got out of the box well; I felt good right away. This is an easier court to play than last week in Stuttgart. The ball bounces up higher into my strike zone. I was connecting well on returns, and I could read his serve.

I played a solid first set once I figured out how to break him. In the second I was able to hold all of my serves. For a first round and without much play n this court, It was fine, I’m very happy.

Roger will face the world no. 48 Benoit Paire in the second round. More happiness seems to be on the way.
