Simona Halep has a good run in the Indian Wells 4th run to beat Qiang Wang in straight sets 7-5 6-1. The Romanian had to battle “only” in the 1st set when she lost a 1-break-up lead twice before winning 7-5. In the second set, there was no match, and the Romanian won the contest after just 76 minutes.

Soon after the match, Simona confessed that she knew she had to be very careful against the Chinese that has defeated her during a practice match a few days before. Halep commented
“I knew it would be like that because we practiced a few days ago and she beat me in practice. I wasn’t missing that much.”
