Another day, another win for Roger Federer.
The Swiss sensation had an extremely easy 3rd round against the world no. 28 Filip Krajinovic to beat the Serbian 6-2 6-1. The only moment that Roger was “not perfect” was when he conceded his serving game when he was leading 2-0 in the opener. Besides that, it was all about Federer that ended the affair in just 58 minutes.
17 consecutive points.
Besides the overall performance, Roger stunned his opponent also mid-match after he won 17 consecutive points before getting a 6-2 3-0 lead.
I was able to mix up nicely. FEDERER
Roger was obviously elated with his performance to comment
“I was playing aggressive and feeling like he was not loving my slice, and then also mixing in with drop shots eventually. I think really I was able to mix up my game nicely, make it difficult for him there. At the same time, have fun with my game, play variation, but for the most part try to stay on the offensive, as well. I think it was a good match.”
Next vs. Chardy
Roger will face the world no.100 Jeremy Chardy for a place in the quarters. The Swiss leads Jeremy 3-1 in head to head matches. Roger is now 2 wins away from retaining the world no.1 rank.
