Fabio Fognini has recently declared that he will not compete anymore in South America. Well, the Italian may change idea especially after he has a fantastic run in Brazil where he reached the semifinal in Rio before winning the title in Sao Paulo.

Fognini won this title after defeating a surprising Nicolas Jarry 1-6 6-1 6-4 in the final.

After the match, Fognini commented “It is never easy to win a tournament. I managed to wait for Jarry’s serve to be less effective, that was the secret.”
