Dimitrov annihilates Novak in Melbourne opener

Grigor Dimitrov has an impressive start at the Australian Open after he defeated Dennis Novak 6-3 6-2 6-1.

There is no much to comment about the match as the Bulgarian was far too good for the world no.224 that came to the main draw through the qualifications. The match ended after just 1 hour and 38 minutes with Dimitrov winning 95 points vs. Novak’s 57.

I tried to stay focused. DIMITROV

Soon after the match, Grigor commented

“I love playing on this court, it was tricky weather with a lot of wind in the warm-up and I tried to be compact and focused. It’s always a dream of mine to win a Slam, this is the next step, and the only thing I can do is to give 100 percent in each match.”

Grigor will play his 2nd round against another qualifier. That could be either the world no. 176 Mackenzie Mcdonald or the world no. 140 Elias Ymer.
