Naomi Osaka fires the second coach in the year as he announced that she would not work anymore with Jermaine Jenkins. Soon after winning the Australian Open, the Japanese no.1 parted ways quite mysteriously with Sascha Bajin. The German was widely considered as the key for Naomi’s success, and he also won the WTA award of the coach of the year in 2018.
Naomi and Jermaine started to work together in February, and it seemed as they enjoyed great chemistry. However, things didn’t work well on the tennis court as Osaka has never managed to win a title since the Australian Open. Furthermore, she also lost the world no.1 rank after failing to defend the US Open title.
The statement
Naomi released the following statement.
“Writing this to let you guys know that me and Jay won’t be working together anymore. I’m super grateful for the time we spent together and the things I learned on and off the court but I feel like now is a appropriate time for a change. Appreciate you, forever warmed by you, Nat and Jordan loi. Thank you for everything, it was a blast.”

Will Sascha Baijin coach Osaka again?
Given their success, it seems to be desirable for Naomi to partner again with Sascha. However, that is not plausible that they will work again also because the German is now coaching Kristina Mladenovic. However, Naomi needs to find a suitable solution also because she is now relying on lucrative endorsements and the sponsor will be eager to see Osaka back to success.
