Viewers upset with the BBC after Djokovic smashed his racket in the Wimbledon final vs. Alcaraz.

BBC commented about alleged favoritism in its coverage of Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz Wimbledon final

Djokovic Smashes His Racket In The Wimbledon Final

The BBC has addressed issues regarding its coverage of the Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz Wimbledon final after acknowledging they have been accused of favoritism towards the seven-time champion. In a nail-biting final on Centre Court, Djokovic was defeated in five sets, but the BBC’s portrayal of an incident in which Djokovic slammed his racket on the net post displeased many.

Commentator Andrew Castle said that it is “understandable how upset Djokovic would be.” However, that comment was not accepted by the viewers. The BBC said that they didn;t condone Djokovic’s behavior, revealing: “We’ve received complaints from people who felt our commentary favoured Novak Djokovic and/or condoned his behaviour after hitting the net post with his racket.”
