Novak Djokovic admits that he lost his motivations after he has managed to finally win the Roland Garros. The world no.1 had a horrible summer for his stellar standards, but fighting for the top spot in the rankings could give him an extra push in the last two tournaments in Bercy and London.
Novak can lose the world no.1 rank if Murray wins the title in Paris and Djokovic fails to reach the final. Right now Murray is just 415 points shy for from the Serbian, and if Andy wins Paris, he will get 1000pts while if Djokovic reaches the semifinal, he will gain only 360 points.
I happy to fight Murray for no.1 DJOKOVIC
During a recent interview, Djokovic commented
"It makes me want to go on court and fight for every point because there is something to win at the end. "I have been in these particular situations before in terms of ranking, so I know what to do, and I just keep things very simple."
Djokovic will play either Gilles Muller or Nicolas Almagro in the Paris opener.
This is going to be fascinating.
WHO WILL GET THE WORLD NO.1 SPOT BY YEAR END?
