Rafa concedes just 4 games to Bedene. VIDEO

The Clay season is back, and the King of Clay is there to take it all!

Rafael Nadal starts his quest for his 11th title in Monte Carlo in the best possible way with a solid win over the world no. 58 Aljaz Bedene.

The match

This encounter was almost a no contest with Rafa winning the opener 6-1. In the second set, Bedene offered some opposition, and he was even leading 3-2. However, that was it, because Nadal won the following 4 games to win the match 6-1 6-3 after 78 minutes.

It was a positive start. NADAL

After the match, Nadal commented

"It was a positive start. That's all. It's important for me to win matches, of course. I need days on court. Since Shanghai last year, I have spent not enough time on court competing.

Every match that I have the chance to win is great news because it helps my confidence and is a chance to play another day. That's what I need.”

Next vs. Khachanov

Rafa will face Karen Khachanov in the 3rd round. The head to head is 2-0 for the Spaniard that has never conceded a single set to the Russian.

They are right to say that playing Rafa on the dirt is the most difficult challenge for a tennis player. It`s incredible to see his confidence over there after so many years.
