The American opens a new case

Tennis players are tested for doping with an incredible frequency, and they often complain about how strict the rules are.

Refusing to be tested can lead to a lengthy ban from the sport as happened to Viktor Troicki that received an 18-months suspension for refusing to take a blood test.

What happened to Madison Brengle

The American had a medical condition that made it difficult for her to be tested. Apparently, the authority ignored that state and Madison got injured after an adverse reaction to needle injections.

Brengle has now a permanent swelling and weakness in her serving arm that made her withdraw from tournaments.

Apparently, the world no.83 is suing the WTA and the ITF for $10million.

From her lawyer

Madison’s lawyer, Peter Ginsberg, commented

"Tennis authorities ignored evidence of her professionally-diagnosed condition and refused to provide alternative testing or a medical accommodation.

It is an abuse. BRENGLE

The tennis player commented

"I am bringing this action in an effort to force those who control the sport I love to understand that players are not commodities and should be treated with respect and dignity.

The unbridled authority of officials to subject players to the kind of abuse I suffered cannot be tolerated; players must have a say in matters involving our health and safety."

From the ITF

The ITF released the following statement

"We are aware of Ms. Brengle's statement that she has filed a lawsuit in the USA relating to her alleged treatment in connection with drug-testing under the Tennis Anti-Doping Programme.

The ITF has not been served with the lawsuit to date. As such, no further comment on this matter will be made at this time."

So, Viktor Troicki had a point…
