Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are last year’s finalists and the top seeds at the current Australian Open, and they should be very happy after the draw came out in Melbourne.

Federer

The Swiss Legend is probably the favorite to win the first slam of the season. On paper, Roger won’t have a tough match till the quarters where he is expected to face either an in-form Juan Martin Del Potro or David Goffin. Here Federer’s projected path.

1st – Bedene – H2H – never played before
2nd – Struff – H2H  1-0 for Federer
3rd – Gasquet – H2H 16-2 for Federer
4th – Querrey – H2H 3-0 Federer
¼ - Goffin – H2H 6-1 for Federer or Del Potro – H2H 18-6 for Federer
½ Zverev – H2H 3-2 for Federer or Djokovic – H2H 23-22 for Djokovic

Nadal

Rafa had a fantastic draw except for the fact that he might face Dimitrov again in the semifinal (probably the favorite after Federer). Here is Rafa’s projected path

1st – Estrella - H2H – never played before
2nd – Leonardo Mayer – H2H 4-0 for Nadal
3rd – Dzumhur – H2H 1-0 for Dzumhur (!!!) or Coric – H2H 2-2
4th – Isner – H2H 7-0 for Nadal
¼ - Cilic – H2H 5-1 for Nadal
½ - Dimitrov – H2H 10-1 for Nadal

Most interesting 1st round

The most interesting 1st round will definitely be Shapovalov Tsitsipas. Both are teenagers and aggressive one-handed backhanded players that are expected to dominate the years to come.

The Zverev

Sascha and Mischa are on a collision path, and they may clash in the 3rd round.

Djokovic

Seeded no.14, Nole fell in the quarter of Sascha Zverev, and the German leads Djokovic 1-0 in head to head matches.

Here the full draw.

LUCKY TOGETHER
