Nadal withdraws from Paris

Top-ranked Rafael Nadal announced that he will not play the upcoming tournament in Paris due to an injury.
The Spaniard said: ‘I cannot play because of tendinitis in my left shoulder. I need to rest for six or seven days. It is nothing to be worried about but the doctor told me I have to spend those days doing intensive treatment and functional rehabilitation with physiotherapy’.
Nadal played three straight tournaments soon after the victorious US Open and this may have caused the tendinitis.
On top of it he added: ‘I’m very sorry for the tournament organizers, who’ve always treated me in a very special way, and especially sorry for all my fans in France and in Paris that I won’t be able to be with them in one of my favorite cities in the world’.
Rafael is expected to play the ATP World Tour Finals in London.
