It seems that Kim Clijster gets better and better year after year and after she has kids.If this is true, she has time to retire again, have another child and maybe win a Grand Slam!
Getting back to the match, the start of the Belgian was quite promising. She won the first 8 points and in no time she found herself 2-0 with Li Na in complete dissaray.
There was an impression that a nasty trash was coming from the final, but then Li Na fought back… Li Na’s style and she managed to win the opening set 6-3.
But Clijster is not that kind of player that gives up easily. She got back on the court as focussed as ever to win the second set 6-3. Li Na seemed to crumble while she was growing more and more upset with the crowd and photographer for noises and flashes.
The decider was a one way set. Li Na could not cope with her nerves and she had many poor returns. The Belgian did not played an outstanding tennis, but she was smart enough to understand the moment and she preferred to stay put and to take advantage of her opponent mistakes.
This was a wise decision that eventaully gave to her the final set (6-3) and her 4th Slam.
Li Na confirmed to be a really good player throughtout her amazing Australian Open.
China has to wait for having a player winning a tennis major… it will come.
