Justine Henin retires for the second time

Unfortunately it seems that this is the ‘final’ retirement from the professional tennis for Justine Henin.
‘I have undergone several tests the past few days, confirming that my elbow has sustained a lot more damage during my adventure in Australia,’ she annouced on her website.
‘The past few weeks, there was a little bit more pain every day, but I thought my willpower would prevail. Today, the tests and my doctors are adamant,’ she added.
The first time retirement came just out of the blue. She was world Nr.1 at that time and she shocked everybody, but her love to the sport made her come back after 20 months.
Now it seems that it is really time to leave the professioanl activity. The sport loses an incredible player that besides her timy figure managed to prevail in a sport that is now dominated by ‘physically stronger players’.
The beauty of her game was an incredible mix of focus, willpower and pure class.
She left a final statement to her fans: ‘If there is one thing I could regret, it is that I protected myself too much and could not be closer to you. I hope you will forgive me,’
We will miss her.
