Elina Svitolina and Grigor Dimitrov have a new coaching team. Is Naomi Osaka moving forward?

The off season is one of those typical moments when players are hiring new coaches in their teams. This is exactly what Elina Svitolina and Grigor Dimitrov have just done, while Naomi Osaka decided to stay with her father for the moment.

Elina Svitolina and Baghdatis

There was not an official announcement from Elina about hiring tennis legend Marcos Baghdatis. However, the Cypriot popped in an Instagram post of the Ukranian that commented: “Teamwork gives you the best opportunity to turn vision into reality. ” 😅💪🏼 #ShutupAndDoAsYoureTold

Marcos’ presence in the post prompted speculations that he is working with Elina (as a trial basis?) to try to give an extra boost to the Ukrainian that is chasing her maiden slam.

Elina is considered as the favorite no.7 to win the upcoming Australian Open. Click here to see the updated quotes (only selected countries – USA excluded). To be able to watch live streaming bet365, a funded account is required or to have placed a bet in the last 24 hours. 18+ BeGambleAware.

Dimitrov’s new coach

According to reports, Grigor replaced Radek Stepanek with Christian Groh that used to coach the likes of Tommy Haas and Taylor Fritz. Apparently, the Bulgarian sensation will still benefit from the services of Andre Agassi. According to Bet365 Grigor is the favorite no.9 to win the upcoming Australian Open (see odds).

Naomi still with her father as a coach?

There has been a long talk about Naomi Osaka hiring a new coach. The Japanese has been experiencing a lot of hiccups in this department. In fact, when it looked obvious that she was enjoying an idyllic relationship with her former coach Sascha Bajin, she sacked the German soon after she won her second consecutive slam at the Australian Open. After a few weeks, she hired Jermaine Jenkins with depressing results. Eventually, the Japanese sensation was back to her very best when she “hired back” her own father to win 11 consecutive matches and 2 straight titles in Osaka and Beijing.

Naomi was expected to hire a new coach for the off season and many thought about a comeback of Sascha Bajin that instead opted for joining rising star Dayana Yastremska.

We are still waiting for an announcement from Naomi any soon… if any. According to the latest odds of bet365, Naomi is the favorite no.4 (with Simona Halep) to win the upcoming Australian Open after Serena Williams, Bianca Andreescu, and Ashleigh Barty.
