Score, report, and key facts
Tsitsipas conquered a leading position at the beginning of the set after breaking Federer in the 2nd game (2-0) before consolidating his break and lead 3-0. That was decisive for the Greek to win the set (6-3) since there were no other breaks. Besides the break lost, Federer seemed to have the upper hand in this set.
Stefanos won the set after he broke Roger in the 3rd (2-1) and in the 5th (3-2) game. The Swiss tried to stage a comeback breaking in the 4th (2-2) game. Anyhow, Stefanos maintained the focus before winning the set 6-4. Tsitsipas looked to be completely in control of the rallies especially on the baseline. In the end, Federer tried to mix up and go more on the net, but the Greek was just too good.
At the end of the match, Stefanos scored 76 points vs. the Swiss’s 67 points.
Tsitsipas was well focused in converting 75% of the break points that he procured (3/4). On the other side, Roger was struggling in converting his break points because he converted only 8% of his break points (1/12). That was one of the key issues for his demise.
After this match, the head to head between Tsitsipas and Federer is 2-2.

“Sometimes in matches like this, you wonder how you overcome all these difficulties, all these break points down. It’s really a mental struggle, so I’m really proud that I managed to save so many break points today. I was trying not to give an easy time to Roger. He was playing good and shout out to him as well.
