Amanda Anisimova and Nick Kyrgios have been seen together several times in the past few months. The 18-year old American player and the 24-year old Australian star have been spotted training and enjoying nightlife together. They have also not been shy in posting pictures and videos together in their social media accounts. This led to people thinking that the two are dating. However, the two never actually confirmed whether there is any truth to the rumors.
Amanda Anisimova slams rumors linking her to Nick Kyrgios
After a few months of silence regarding the matter, Anisimova finally addressed the rumors that she and Kyrgios are dating. During a Q&A session she held through her account’s Instagram Stories, she remarked that the rumors about them being in a relationship are so “old.” She categorically denied the dating news, saying that they are just friends.

The two’s closeness has only fueled the spread of the rumors. Back in May, Kyrgios was seen accompanying Anisimova on a trip to the hairdresser. She, in fact, posted a video of the hairdressing session while Nick waited for her to finish a few meters from her.
The multiple pictures and videos that the two posted of each other also raised eyebrows among many fans. They also comment on each other’s posts once in a while, fueling further speculations.
Earlier this year, pictures and videos of Amanda and Nick practicing in Indian Wells also spread on the Internet. They followed it up with another training session together in Miami a few weeks after.
Anisimova expects more young players to make their mark
In other news, the world No. 29 shared her thoughts on the rise of younger players in the WTA Tour. She commented that there many upcoming players that are performing well in the tournaments. Anisimova further remarked that people should no longer be surprised that younger players are defeating more veteran players.
China Open collision course with Bianca Andreescu, Naomi Osaka
Despite the recent loss of her father Konstantin, Anisimova pledges to perform well in the upcoming tournaments. While she does not put too much pressure on herself, she does say that she expects to have a bigger impact in next year’s first Grand Slam in Australia.
The American will be participating in this week’s China Open. Surprisingly, there is a possibility that Anisimova might face off with two other young stars in the tournament. She is in the same bracket as 2019 U.S. Open champ Bianca Andreescu and 2018 U.S. Open winner Naomi Osaka, who she could face off in the third round and quarter-finals respectively.
Nick Kyrgios’s ranking and performance in 2019
Ranked no.28, Nick played his last match on the 25th of September when he was defeated by Andreas Seppi 7-65 6-1 in the 1st round in Zhuhai.
This year Nick has a 21-14 win-loss record. Kyrgios has won 2 titles in 2019 in Acapulco and in Washington.
